Steven Mcloughlin is a self-taught artist originally from Derbyshire. Born in 1970, his interest in painting emerged at an early age. In childhood, he painted the world around him and he has worked as a professional artist for most of his adult life. A successful career as a commercial artist paved the way for Steven to establish himself as a passionate landscape painter. We’re thrilled that he accepted our invitation to paint our beautiful location. Some of our favourite spots around the South Hams feature in his latest collection.
Steven combines work on location with studio time, creating elegant, accomplished works. Watching his two sons grow up gifted Steven a fresh insight into human interaction with the landscape. Figures now often feature in his works. He hopes this narrative element will help the viewers see themselves in the scene. Wherever you hang one of Steven’s beautiful paintings, you will be transported to our glittering coastline.
