Rosa Sepple PPRI

Rosa Sepple creates vibrant, whimsical paintings that blend memory and fantasy. Self-taught and launching her career in the late 1990s, her unique style was inspired by her grandfather, Venetian artist Salvatore Casagrande. Using watercolour, ink, and collage, Rosa creates highly textured, jewel-like surfaces. Her figurative works push artistic boundaries, featuring floating figures and delightfully tilting architecture. In 2017, Rosa made history as the first-ever female President of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI), serving until 2022.

In 2015, Rosa celebrated the launch of her debut book, Out of the Blue, alongside a major solo exhibition of 120 new paintings at London’s Mall Galleries. Her highly acclaimed career is marked by numerous honors, including the Herring Award for best figurative work, the Elizabeth Scott-Moore Award, and the Debra Manifold Award. She has also received the Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Award, the Andrew Hillier Award for creativity and two Daler-Rowney Awards.
