Paul Treasure

We’re thrilled to now be showing Paul’s Treasure’s wonderfully expressive paintings. Paul was born in Gloucestershire in 1961 and studied at Cheltenham College of Art. After graduation, a period based in London followed by a year travelling the globe established international recognition for his work.

Each one of Paul’s canvases seeks to celebrate our relationship with the ever-shifting natural world around us. Rich with light and colour, Paul’s paintings use texture and gestural brushwork to bring movement and life to each piece. Skilful use of his palette knife gives each work real depth and connects the viewer intimately with Paul’s process.

Paul’s work chimes with our location on Start Bay and the Dart River. While he often paints from memory in his Hampshire studio, this work nevertheless evokes the essence of those special moments in the South Hams, walking the Dart or coastal trails when bright, clear light is sparkling on the river or bouncing off the bay.
