Read more about Julie Dunster
Julie Dunster is an established, award-winning artist based in Devon. She holds a First-class degree in Education and Psychology from Cardiff University and finessed her painting skills at the Kidogo Art Institute, Fremantle, Australia. Her work has featured in notable exhibitons including those held by the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the New English Art Club.
We first encountered Julie painting high above Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth. Typical of her approach to landscape painting (she paints ‘en plein air’), she had set her easel up looking south across the beach. Working in oils, she aims to capture the landscape as she sees it at that moment. The product of that day is in our first collection here. It was a beautiful, sparkling summer’s day, and Julie perfectly captured that feeling, so much so that we immediately asked her if we could show the work in the gallery.
Alongside several views of Blackpool Sands, the collection here also features Castle Cove, Dartmouth, and Kingswear.
