We’ve filled the ground floor of the gallery with brand-new work from Colin and Claire. They each take contrasting approaches to landscape painting. Colin has travelled around the South Hams, setting his easel up at his favourite spots and working on location in the tradition of ‘plein air’ painting. Claire has also travelled the South Hams coast and further afield. Her work, completed in her studio, avoids total recognition, allowing the viewer to project their own feelings into her work.

Both are prize-winning artists, Colin’s work has been exhibited by the Mall Galleries, The Laing Gallery, The Royal Society of Marine Artists and The New England Art Club. Claire has many accolades, most recently winning the Russell and Chapple canvas prize at the Royal Society of Marine Artists Annual Exhibition in 2019. Paintings by both Colin and Claire feature in the Parliamentary Art Collection after being purchased by the House of Lords.
