Rosa Sepple RI, SWA
Our summer exhibition features the work of Rosa Sepple RI, SWA. Art can achieve many things for its owner, evocation of places or times, conveyance of the energy of our landscapes or the representing the beauty of nature but Rosa's speciality is social commentary with an emphasis on humour. This collection contains references to many of the aspects of our society which make us laugh, usually up our sleeves because they are all a little irreverent.
ROSA SEPPLE RI
Rosa Sepple RI SWA was born in London of Italian/British parents. Rosa lived in Northern Italy for several years. Throughout those years, Rosa spent a great deal of time in the studio of her Grandfather, Italian artist, Salvatore Casagrande. She returned to England, married photographer Ted Sepple and after raising two sons returned to painting full time. Rosa is committed to producing exciting, vibrant and highly original figurative works combining observation, memory and imagination. Most of her inspiration is drawn from ordinary people and everyday experiences and events. Rosa is self taught and her compositions have a visual strength and refreshing spontineity. She experiments continuously using a combination of mediums including watercolour, acrylic, gouache and ink as well as collage to produce beautifully textured surfaces and rich variations of colour and tone.
